1 Nov 2020 A Few Latin Abbreviations for References: 'Ibid.' and the 'Id.' Group Latin abbreviations used to be much more common in scholarly references
The other common Latin abbreviation used in academic referencing is ‘ibid.’ This is short for ibidem and means ‘in the same place’. It is therefore used for repeat citations, especially in footnotes: 1.
